Leveraging Innovative Security Solutions for Banks And Financial Institutions
Date : April 10, 2013 8:30 am ~ 6:30 pm
Venue : Sofitel, Bandra Kurla Complex, Mumbai
It goes without saying that Banking Sector plays a very critical role in the overall development of a nation’s economic and social aspects. Over the last one decade or so, the Indian Banking system has been extremely adept in adopting the latest banking technologies and continuously creating better benchmarks of operations thereby bringing the Indian Banking System almost at par with global players. However, with increasing integration and expansion, the threats and risks associated from all kinds of physical and cyber attacks as well as financial frauds have increased manifold.
For banks, it becomes imperative to guard their assets from all these kinds of threats because banks today are a very key component of economic infrastructure grid. Any large scale cyber fraud or collapse of the banking network has the potential to make the entire economic architecture to come to a standstill. With increasing vulnerability of South Asia, the issue of cyber and physical threats to India’s major financial institutions and its implications for the nation, is no more a just an academic indulgence but a very clear and present danger. Thus a renewed focus on security is required and security must be viewed not just as a tactic, but as part of the overall business strategy.
Banking being a very specialised operation, it becomes imperative for the financial institutions to work in tandem with the nation’s law enforcement agencies and technology providers to devise newer means to counter the present and the potential threats that may endanger the financial grid of India. Against this backdrop, Security Watch India is organizing a one day conference on “Leveraging Innovative Security Solutions for Banks And Financial Institutions” endeavoured to bring all the stakeholders together to brainstorm on this very relevant issue and create a platform for each of them to share their experience and recommend better means to integrate the physical and cyber grids of India’s Financial system to ward off all kinds of hazard that may threaten India.
