East Midlands Ambulance service employers and nurses from across the NHS walked out on Monday, February 6 as industrial strike action continues across the UK.

It was the first time both ambulance staff and nurses staged strike action on the same day. The RCN (Royal College of Nursing) are also staging strike action today (Tuesday, February 7).

Readers have offered a mixed reaction to the news with one reader saying: "If you don't like your job then leave and find another job. To go on strike and place people's lives at risk is indefensible." Another reader said: "Respect to the paramedics they deserve so much better, absolute heroes."
