Sree Chitra Tirunal Institute for Medical Sciences and Technology (SCTIMST), Trivandrum, Kerala-695 011, an Institution of National Importance, Department of Science and Technology, Govt. of India, has invited applications for admission to various academic programs for the academic session, July 2025.
M. Tech Biomedical Engineering: Those with minimum CGPA of 6.5/equivalent marks in the undergraduate level in the following categories are eligible (i) B.E./B.Tech. /AMIE/equivalent in following disciplines with valid GATE score -Biomedical Engineering; Biotechnology; Chemical Engineering; Computer Science and Engineering/ Information Technology; Electrical Engineering; Electronics/Telecommunications Engineering; Engineering Physics; Instrumentation Engineering; Mechanical Engineering; Metallurgy & Materials Science; Pharmaceutical Technology; Polymer Technology; Other Branches of Engineering (ii) M.Sc. or equivalent in following disciplines with valid GATE score: Biochemistry; Biophysics; Biotechnology; Ceramics; Chemistry; Electronics / Electronic Sciences; Ergonomics; Materials Science; Mathematics; Molecular Biology; Physics; Physiology; Other Branches of Science (iii) Health Sciences with all National level post graduate entrance examination for the disciplines like NEETPG, NEETMDS, etc.: MBBS; BDS; BPharm; BVSc; B.P.Th., B.O.Th., B.ASLP, Pharm D (Eligible only if the duration of these courses are 4 years or more).
Master of Public Health (MPH, 24-month full-time residential program): MBBS, BDS, BAMS, BNYS, BUMS, BSMS, BHMS, B.Tech/BE (any branch) Degree holders; Graduates of four-year degree programs in Veterinary/Nursing Sciences, Bachelor of Physiotherapy, Bachelor of Occupational Therapy, Bachelor of Pharmacy, or students with a postgraduate degree in Statistics/Biostatistics, Demography, Population Studies, Nutrition, Sociology, Economics, Psychology, Anthropology, Social Work, Management or Law may apply. Work experience in a health-related field is desirable. Age: Forty years as on 1st July 2025. Age relaxation may be given as per Government of India policy and in exceptional cases.
Diploma in Public Health (DPH-1 year): Exclusively for MBBS doctors presently employed in various state/central government departments/agencies with a minimum of 3 years of experience in government service after MBBS. The age limit is 50 years as of 01.07.2025.
Diploma in Operation Theatre & Anaesthesia Technology (DOTAT): The applicant should hold a diploma in electronics/biomedical engineering/instrumentation. Upper age limit is 25 years (as of 1st July 2025), relaxable by 3 years for OBC candidates.
PhD: (i) Physical Sciences—Postgraduate degree in Physics (All branches) (ii) Chemical Sciences: Postgraduate degree in Chemistry (All branches) (iii) Biological Sciences/Biomedical Sciences: Postgraduate degree in any branch of Life Sciences (Physiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Zoology, Bioinformatics, Plant Sciences, etc.) /Dentistry (iv) Bioengineering: Postgraduate degree in Polymer Engineering/Technology, Material Science, Biomedical Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering, Biotechnology, Clinical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Computer Science or Information Technology, or any other postgraduate ngineering degree holders whose research work is feasible at SCTIMST (v) Biomaterial Science and Technology: MPhil (Biomedical Technology), Postgraduate degree in Physics, Chemistry, Polymer Chemistry, Polymer Science, Material Science, Biotechnology, or Veterinary Science (vi) Health Sciences: Postgraduate degree in modern medicine, public health, dentistry, nursing, veterinary sciences, demography, economics, sociology, social work, political science, business management (MBA), public administration, and statistics. The Academic Committee may approve other postgraduate degrees after examining the merits of the suggestion.
Applications have also been invited for admission to (i) Integrated PhD (MD-PhD, DM/MCh-PhD)—only MD/DM/MCh residents of SCTIMST are eligible to apply (ii) Post-Doctoral Fellowship (PDF) after DM/MCh/DNB.

The entrance examination (computer-based test) for MPH, M.Tech & DOTAT will be held at Thiruvananthapuram, Chennai, Mumbai, Delhi and Kolkata.
Reservation will be followed as per the Govt. of India policy.
