BURLINGTON, Vt. (WCAX) - When it comes to the sweeping federal layoffs in the headlines in recent weeks, just how many federal employees in Vermont have been fired? It’s a question from WCAX viewer Ruth, and we’re getting answers.

The Vermont Department of Labor says that as of Thursday there were 42 federal worker claims with 22 discharges. For context, Vermont has upwards of 6,800 federal workers, so it appears not many have sought unemployment yet.

Labor officials on Friday also released a list of resources for those who are affected by federal cuts.
