Franklin County tech ed students get job interviewing experience
ST. ALBANS, Vt. (WCAX) - Tech ed students in Franklin County on Wednesday got a taste of what it’s like to take part in a real job interview.
The Northwest Career and Technical Center hosted its 9th annual Technology and Engineering Day in St. Albans.
About 300 students met with about 70 employers to interview for openings in the automotive, public safety, education, and health care sectors.
Students say it gives them a headstart in their careers. “I do think that a lot of these employers know how nervous it can be. They are very comforting and help us get through it. It is all just a learning experience. It is a lot of fun though,” said Josephine Maguire, a student at Missisquoi Valley Union High School.
Officials with the technical center say the majority of their students end up finding a job as soon as they graduate.
