Nancy Lou Shatney, 80, of Wolcott, died peacefully in the comfort of her home on Friday, March 21, 2025, with her loving family at her side.
She was born Sept. 18, 1944, in Barton, the daughter of the late Frederick and Stella (Eastman) Stevens. She attended West Glover public schools.
On May 6, 1963, she married Reginald W. Shatney Sr. at the United Methodist Church in Wolcott. Together they raised four children.
In her earlier years, Nancy stayed at home to care for her young family. When her children entered school, she entered the workforce. She was employed by the Mountain Road Resort in Stowe for 36 years, retiring in 2006.
Nancy was a past member of the West Glover Methodist Church and a choir member of that church. She loved the time she spent with her family, especially with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She enjoyed her cats — Stella, TT, Lucky and Colbey. They were always near and dear to her heart. She also enjoyed playing cards, reading, crocheting, flower gardening and baking. She will be remembered as a funny, loving lady with a feisty attitude.
