Resume and mock interview workshop held in Clinton
CLINTON, Iowa (KWQC) - Grow Clinton and LyondellBasell spent the day helping people get the skills they need to find jobs.
The two organizations held a free workshop for community members to help improve resumes and give mock interviews in honor of women’s history month.
A drive was also held for gently used women’s professional clothing for job interviews at Renaissance Resale Boutique. The Boutique is open from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. during the week and 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday.
The event aims to give the community a way to practice skills that are needed to interview for jobs but aren’t always taught.
Jessica Ditch, a polymers technical manager at LyondellBasell said people can learn to interact with each other but need to practice selling themselves.
“But to learn how to sell yourself, and do that in a humble way, in a way that really showcases how your skills and highlights match with the employer,” Ditch said. “It’s something that you need to practice, that you need reps doing that.”
