The Oklahoma County District Attorney’s Office announced the charges against Glenn Brentnell and Anthony Menzie, who were charged in Oklahoma County on Tuesday.
Officials said in November 2022, the Oklahoma Department of Environmental Quality received information about flowing and standing sewage around the wastewater treatment plant. Investigators responded and found sewage around the headworks building and observed it flowing down a ditch near the facility into a creek. Witnesses told investigators that Brentnell and Menzie were responsible, according to a news release.
Investigators learned that Brentnell, the plant’s manager, knew about failures at the treatment plant and did nothing to make repairs, according to a news release.
“Those failures resulted in the sewage and untreated wastewater ending up in the creek. Menzie was interviewed and admitted to altering laboratory reports to reflect a lower fecal count. Those falsified reports were submitted to DEQ and The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency,” district attorney officials said in the news release.

Officials said Menzie was arrested Friday and booked into the Oklahoma County Detention Center. Brentnell had a warrant out for his arrest but was not in custody as of Friday afternoon.
