WEST WYOMING — Wyoming Regional Police are looking for two men after shots were fired in West Wyoming early Saturday morning.

Police Chief Michael Turner said officers received a report of shots fired just after midnight near the intersection of Holden and Gregory streets, which included a description of a vehicle believed to be involved.

Officers responded and spotted the suspect vehicle and attempted to stop it.

The driver, however, refused to stop and continued up Eighth Street, eventually stopping on West Sperling Street.

Two men wearing dark clothing then got out of the vehicle and fled toward Shoemaker Avenue/Eighth Street, with officers in pursuit.

When the officers lost sight of the men, State Police helicopters were called in for aerial support, but were unable to locate the suspects.

Turner is asking that West Wyoming residents living in that area of the borough review any security camera surveillance footage they have which depicts the men or any suspicious activity between 12 a.m. and 2 a.m. on Saturday.

Should they find any applicable surveillance footage, residents are asked to call 911.

Turner said the department does have several leads and described the matter as an  “open investigation.”
