TREXM Holdings Launches CSR Initiative to Impact 100 Nigerian Students

TREXM Holdings is on a mission to unlock the potential of Nigeria’s youth through impactful corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives focused on education and career development.

The company recently kicked off an inspiring programme for students at Shining Light Beach School in the Ishahai community, delivering hands-on workshops on career path creation and exploring STEM skills.

Shining Light Beach School, is an institution with a mission to provide quality

education and essential resources to the children of Ishahayi, a small fishing village

located on the barrier island between Lagos and Badagry.

A team from the company paid a visit to Ishahai community’s Shining Light Beach

School where they led two engaging workshops focused on career path creation and the importance of Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) education for students. The interactive sessions provided students with practical advice on mapping out successful careers, and opened their eyes to new professional possibilities.

“We want the students of Shining Light Beach School to know that they can succeed, regardless of their backgrounds. Our goal is also to get them excited about pursuing rewarding career paths.”

Employees from TREXM who volunteered for the workshop at the Shining Light

Beach School, were impressed by the students’ eagerness to learn and participate.

Elizabeth Atule remarked, “I was impressed by how smart the students are and how they were able to answer the quiz questions we engaged them on. It’s indeed a

testament of how dedicated and hardworking their teachers are.”

Ninety-three per cent of the students who took part in the workshop feel confident in applying the workshop content to guide their future decisions. TREXM will continue to support the school through various initiatives, including internship opportunities and scholarships for students.

TREXM Holdings plans to roll out four major CSR projects this year aimed at directly benefiting 100 young Nigerian students. Each project will engage secondary schools and tertiary institutions in skills development, education, and internship opportunities – aligned with TREXM’s mission of empowering young Nigerian talents to thrive.

Head, People & Culture at TREXM Holdings, Ayoyimika Odunuga, who echoed this sentiment, said: “At TREXM, we believe in the power of education to transform lives and communities. As part of our CSR efforts, we are proud to introduce our scholarship programme, designed to support deserving students in their pursuit of academic excellence.”

Additionally, to close out quarter one, TREXM awarded scholarships to five students from the five communities at Onne, Port Harcourt (one of the company’s host communities) to kickstart their tertiary education.

With hands-on learning at its core, TREXM Holdings’ CSR initiatives demonstrate its commitment to unlocking the potential of Nigerian students and empowering the next generation. Its inspirational workshops and programs aim to open up a world of opportunities for young people – equipping the next generation of Nigerians with the right skills, knowledge, and support they need to drive positive change locally and globally.
