Goodyear has announced a significant round of layoffs at its Danville plant, affecting 815 workers as the company shifts its focus to aviation tire production and mixing.

The layoffs, detailed in a WARN notice sent to the Virginia Department of Workforce Development and Advancement, began on April 2 and will continue over a two-week period.

The notice outlines the specific job titles and the number of employees affected in each division. Among those hit hardest are 85 workers who assemble radial tires and 64 tend press operators.
