The Department of Maltese at the University of Malta has published Il-Vjagg it-Tajjeb, a bilingual phrasebook for ground and cabin crew and Malta International Airport, as well as anyone looking to improve their Maltese communication skills in aviation. It is freely available online.
The UM explained that this 50-page guide is divided into eight sections, covering key aspects of aviation work, from personal belongings and job roles to common questions. All the key words are conveniently listed alphabetically at the back of the book in English and Maltese.
A companion website malti.mt/learn-maltese includes all words and expressions from the book, each with a sound clip to aid pronunciation and comprehension.
