As of the end of March 2025, within the framework of the humanitarian initiative "Grain from Ukraine" by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Ukraine has delivered over 280,000 tons of food products.
This was reported by the Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine, Vitaliy Koval.
In particular, 415.9 tons of vegetable oil were sent to Mozambique, 553 tons of wheat flour to Palestine, and 4,400 tons of wheat flour to Syria. According to the World Food Programme (WFP), the supply to Syria will provide food for more than 59,000 Syrians over six months.
"The 'Grain from Ukraine' initiative is an example of how a country, which is itself suffering from Russian aggression, is actively responding to global food security challenges and remains a reliable partner in the fight against hunger in the most vulnerable regions of the world," noted Vitaliy Koval.
The total funding for this year's shipments amounted to 331 million USD. The programme's funding is organized in rounds. The current, third round, has raised 35.5 million USD in confirmed funding from 29 donor countries.
The next phase of shipments, with funding of 18.8 million USD from Canada, Sweden, Portugal, and Spain, will be directed to Bangladesh, Chad, Mozambique, Pakistan, and Syria.
