BEDFORD—Bedford North Lawrence (BNL) High School is launching an exciting new program called “Summer Stars” to connect its students with valuable summer job opportunities before the school year ends. This initiative seeks to benefit local businesses needing seasonal help and high school students eager to gain real-world work experience.
Summer Stars provides a streamlined and cost-free way for local business owners to tap into a pool of motivated and reliable high school students for summer employment. Participating businesses do not have to make a long-term commitment or incur a cost.
Here’s how the “Summer Stars” program works:
- Businesses Submit Job Information: Local business owners with summer job openings are invited to submit the details of their positions through a dedicated online link.
- Job Board for Students: BNL will then post these job opportunities on a student-facing job board, making it easy for high schoolers to browse available positions.
- Businesses Choose Who to Hire: Participating businesses have complete control over their hiring decisions and can choose which students they wish to employ.
- Simple Feedback: At the end of the summer, BNL will reach out for a quick confirmation of hire and a brief feedback form.
The “Summer Stars” initiative welcomes job submissions from various sectors, including food service, retail, landscaping, customer service, seasonal work, and any other roles that could provide a valuable first work experience for a teenager.
