Malta, NY — A traffic stop on U.S. Route 9 in the town of Malta led to the arrest of 27-year-old Monica Wornall of Queensbury, on multiple charges, including felony DWI.
The Saratoga County Sheriff's Office stopped Wornall's vehicle Wednesday at 9:00 PM for driving without illuminated headlamps or tail lamps and for having a suspended registration.
Authorities said Wornall was operating the vehicle while intoxicated, with the DWI charge elevated to a felony due to a prior conviction within the last 10 years.
She is also accused of driving with a suspended registration, failing to use headlamps and tail lamps, and refusing a breath test.
Wornall was released on appearance tickets as directed by Judge Ellwood A. Sloat Jr. of the Malta Town Court.
The charges are not qualifying offenses for bail under New York state law enacted in January 2020.
