Sri Lanka Tri-Forces continue relief efforts in Myanmar

11 Apr 2025 | BY Staff Writer

A Sri Lankan Humanitarian Assistance and Relief Team comprising Army, Navy, and Air Force personnel is actively engaged in disaster recovery operations in Myanmar following a powerful earthquake.

The team, deployed last week, has been operating in severely affected areas such as Nay Pyi Taw and Pobba Thiri Township, running mobile medical clinics for displaced communities.

Special attention is being given to women, children, and other vulnerable individuals at Internally Displaced Persons (IDP) centres including those at the Ministry of Commerce, Lat Lok Toun Pagoda, and Mashikhana Monastery.

In addition to treating injuries and infections, the team is offering psychological support and health education to help stabilize impacted lives.

The mission underscores Sri Lanka’s strong regional humanitarian commitment, with continued operations planned alongside Myanmar’s authorities and global partners.
