LA CROSSE, Wis. (WXOW) — Black Leaders Acquiring Collective Knowledge (B.L.A.C.K.) hosted a unique fundraising event on Sunday night.
The "Pasta and Presentations" fundraiser dinner was part of the cultural exploration and education program, aka CEEP.
The fundraiser aims to support students traveling to Africa to broaden their perspectives. Students presented topics of their choice during the dinner. After their two-week trip to Africa, they will share insights and comparisons between the two countries.

"My presentation is centered around African American women facing healthcare issues and how they can feel uncomfortable and face racism during appointments," said Amaya Emler, a Freshmen at Central High School. "I'm excited to see what their norms are down there compared to what I do in my daily life and just excited to see what it's like down there."
B.L.A.C.K. has teamed up with A Leadership Journey from Rhode Island for this trip. Seven CEEP students from Rhode Island and four local students will embark on their two-week journey to Africa at the end of May.
Another fundraiser for this trip is scheduled for May 4.
