RENO – The Nevada Association of Employers (NAE) will present its 2nd Annual Employers Conference Friday, June 15, in Reno at the Grand Sierra Resort & Casino.
NAE CEO Thoran Towler said the aim of the conference is to address key issues facing employers throughout Nevada, including the legalization of marijuana, workplace harassment, and many more important employer topics.
Expert speakers include:
Constance Aguilar – The Abbi Agency
Aguilar is a co-founder of The Abbi Agency, which provides public relations, social media, and brand development services to businesses in Nevada. She will present “Harassment in the Age of Social Media.”
Anthony Hall, Esq. – Holland & Hart
Hall provides litigation defense and extensive preventative counseling to clients in all areas of labor and employment law. He will present “Marijuana in Nevada: A Legal Update.”
Malihe Kigasari – Equal Employment Opportunity Commission
Kigasari is a bilingual senior investigator with the EEOC and an employment law instructor for San Francisco State College. She will present “Preventing Sexual Harassment in the Workplace.”
Ann Morgan, Esq. – Fennemore Craig
Morgan’s practice includes employment law, estate and trust litigation, and general business advice. She serves in a general counsel capacity to private individuals and physicians groups and will present “Harassment at Work: A Legal Perspective.”
Daniel Neill – Department of Justice
Neill is the assistant regional director for the Drug Enforcement Administration in Nevada. He has more than 27 years of law enforcement experience and will present “Drugs in the Workplace: A Federal Perspective.”
Aguilar, Kigasari and Morgan will also be part of a panel discussion on sexual harassment in the #MeToo era.
Members of NAE and non-members can attend the conference, with early bird pricing of $199 for members and $299 for non-members available through May 25. Prices increase to $250 for members and $350 for non-members after that date.
The winner of NAE’s 2018 Human Resources Person of the Year will also be announced at the conference.
