Goldman Sachs Foundation launches training program for New Hampshire entrepreneurs

10-week course to be offered through community colleges

The Goldman Sachs Foundation has launched a program along with Community College System of New Hampshire that’s aimed at training small business owners.

The free three-month program, to begin in March 2019, is part of Goldman’s “Ten Thousand Small Businesses” initiative, which offers a 10-week course and certificate to entrepreneurs. The curriculum, designed by Babson College, is taught by trained community college faculty.

The company expects to offer training to about 70 New Hampshire small business owners in 2019.

The program, which is provided at no cost with support from the Goldman Sachs Foundation,

“This program can help our state’s small business owners increase their productivity, profitability, and job-creation potential, helping communities across the state increase their economic resiliency and impact,” said CCSNH Chancellor Ross Gittell.

According to Goldman, so far over 7,600 small business owners from around the country have graduated from the program, with 67 percent of graduates seeing revenue growth six months after completing the program and 47 percent creating new jobs six months after completing the program

One graduate of the program is Santosh Salvi, owner of Nashua-based Unique System Skills, who said, “since graduating the program, my business revenues have increased by 35 percent and we’re expected to more than triple by 2022.”

To be eligible, a business must have been in operation for at least two years and have at least $100,000 in revenue, at least two employees (including the owner). Businesses of all types and across all industries are encouraged to apply.

Eligible businesses can learn more about the program and apply and at 10KSBapply.com/NewHampshire. Applications are due on Dec. 3.
