Finding for Recovery of $9,316 Issued Against Former Huntsville Fiscal Officer over Late Tax Payments
COLUMBUS – A finding for recovery totaling $9,316 was issued Tuesday against the former fiscal officer for the Village of Huntsville, after the Logan County community paid penalties for late tax remittances, Auditor of State Keith Faber announced Tuesday.
Former Fiscal Officer Lori Fisher and her bonding company are jointly and severally liable for the total, which was included in an audit of the Village’s finances for Jan. 1, 2021, through Dec. 31, 2022.

As a result of late report and payment submissions to the Internal Revenue Service in 2016, 2017, and 2018, Huntsville incurred untimely remittance penalties and interest charges totaling $9,316.24. Auditors noted, “These incurred costs were unnecessary expenditures that did not serve a proper public purpose and could have been avoided had the submissions been remitted by the required due date.”
